Bryan – Owner & Specialty Coach

Bio: I am from Springfield, IL born and raised. I was a three sport athlete in high school. Went on to play college basketball at LLCC. Always have been a fitness enthusiast. Received my degree in Business Administration.

I have been doing CrossFit since 2011. I started conventional lifting in high school and fell in love with health and fitness. Once I found CrossFit it was a game changer! I found that I knew very little about fitness. My life has been changed through CrossFit and I hope to change others through it as well! I love the feeling of accomplishment I get from helping others exceed their limits and do things they never knew they could!

My favorite movement is the Snatch.

I was born and raised in the Chatham area. I was a three sport athlete in high school where I spent a lot of time in the weight room where I became very enthusiastic about fitness, but just not finding the drive to do more than just conventional weightlifting.

I began Crossfit in 2014 just by chance and haven’t looked back since. To be around other like minded athletes really gave me the drive to excel and get better. I decided to make the move into coaching to teach other athletes the crossfit methods, ideas, and fundamentals to help them improve on their health and fitness goals.

I have lived in Chatham most of my life. I love the community and after college, decided that this is where we wanted to raise our family. I am wife to Sean and mother to 4 children, Zack, Zane, Zaiden, Zoe and our Goldendoodle, Harrison.

I have been an athlete all of my life and am competitive in everything I do. I played soccer and volleyball competitively to the collegiate level and have taken that passion to coach both sports today. Crossfit came into my life about 8 years ago and has escalated into a passion. I have taken pride within the fitness community and love watching people conquer things they never thought they could. Along with Crossfit I have taken an interest in nutrition and have lived the Paleo lifestyle for about 5 years now. Fitness and nutrition go hand in hand. I encourage people to live and eat healthier to sustain a functional lifestyle longer.

Born in Springfield, IL. Spent most of my childhood in Rochester, IL. Moved back to Springfield for high school. Senior year made the move to Decorah, IA where I finished high school and graduated in 2010. Continued my education spending two years at Luther College in Decorah, IA studying business management and communications while playing on the basketball team. As a lifelong basketball player, I loved the feeling of being part of a team, almost like a second family. I thrived in that environment. When I returned home from college I was eager to find that again. In December 2013, Bryan introduced me to CrossFit. Him and Jon shared with me their vision of XLT. Instantly I knew I had found my new team. Outside of XLT I spend my time being a soldier in the Army National Guard, attached to the 3637th Support Maintenance Company at Camp Lincoln, work as a Screen Printer/Graphic Artist at FreeStyle Apparel & Design, as well as an Assistant Basketball coach for 6th grade boys at Franklin Middle School.

What I love most about CrossFit is the community. There are people of all different fitness levels coming together with common goals. We encourage, motivate, and push each other to reach new heights. CrossFit allows athletes to gain confidence breaking down barriers they once thought unobtainable. This mindset carries over into our every day lives.

It’s contagious, and it works. The results speak for themselves.

What I love most about being a coach is seeing our athletes develop and progress through hard work and determination. Whether it be hitting a new PR, helping them with technique/form, seeing an improvement in mobility, or an increase in endurance. Each feat conquered is a reason to celebrate. Building relationships with our athletes and being a part of their fitness journey betters me as a coach and person. There is no ceiling in CrossFit; always room to improve and more to learn.

I was born and raised in Springfield, Illinois. I played many different sports throughout my youth and into my teenage years. My dad has always been a weightlifter so he is the one who got me interested in fitness. However, it was not until I found CrossFit in late 2015 that I realized what the sport of fitness involves. Throughout the remainder of 2015 and into 2016, I would attend CrossFit on a regular basis but it was not until 2017 that I realized how much I enjoyed CrossFit and decided to attend the certification seminar in the spring. It was easily one of the best decisions I have ever made.

As an athlete and a trainer, I give everything I have to the workout and to the community of great people we have at CrossFit XLT to help them get better and enjoy the sport more and more each day. The workouts are great but the community of great people makes it even more enjoyable. I have met some amazing individuals through CrossFit and being able to coach and workout with my friends is something I truly appreciate.
